2022 Year 13 Leavers Alumni Pin Ceremony

On 28 October we honoured our Year 13 leavers with a special alumni pin ceremony in the Study Hall, an occasion which we hope will become a special AGGS tradition. Year 13 students entered the Study Hall through a guard of honour made up of Year 12 students to a rousing welcome from Ngā Tūmunako o Kahurangi. Following a welcoming address by the Principal, Ms Ashmore, Heather Ash, Chair of the AGGS Foundation addressed the students telling them a little about her time at school and her memories, Ms Ash was Head Girl in 1971. Then with Year 11 and 12 students looking on from the balcony and main stairs, each Year 13 student went up to the podium to receive congratulations from Ms Ashmore and Foundation members and an Alumni pin. The ceremony ended with the singing of the school song and an unplanned rousing haka, followed by morning tea for Year 13 in the Staffroom. All Year 13 students have been invited to register for the AGGS Community website where they can continue to keep in touch with their old school. |
