Visit from 'Old Girl' Fern Chen

On 18 November 2022, Fern Chan, an ex-AGGS students came back to visit. Fern has been living in New York for a number of years. She gave an inspirational speech to our Year 9 students about how AGGS had shaped her into the confident woman that she is today because of the experiences and opportunities that she had here. She also was a judge for the BP Young Enterprise business challenge, she thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the young women who had to pitch a new product after just three days. Fern is now Director of Continuing & Professional Studies at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her role is to manage all professional development training in the fields of law enforcement, fire safety, security management, and social justice. A real role model for our wahine, where she encouraged them to aim high, to "never let anyone tell you that you can't be what you want to be in life' . She loved being back and we loved having her! |
