Sister Head Girls Husna and Safa Nazari 2022 and 2023
Monday, 6 March 2023
Probably for the first time in our school’s long history two sisters have become Head Girls in consecutive years.   In 2022 Husna Nazari was our school’s co-Head Girl along with Kayla Jackson-Shaw.
Husna was also our 2022 Dux and in addition to being awarded a University of Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship, she was also awarded a Sir George Elliot Tertiary Scholarship, only three of which are awarded each year.   This year she has started at Auckland University on the first stage of her journey to fulfil her dream of becoming a doctor.
Following hard on the footsteps of her sister, Safa Nazari is one of this year’s co-Head Girls along with Te Kahurangi Whata.  Safa has immersed herself in co-curricular activities and student leadership opportunities over the past four years.  She has over 200 NCEA excellence credits and has 100% attendance!  Her many co-curricular activities have included playing hockey for the school, being a member of the Sustainability Council, planting trees for survival, and being the Head Librarian.  She too plans to study medicine when she leaves school, and she hopes to combine this with a law degree.

In relatively recent years, two other sisters have been AGGS Head Girls Marie Williams in 1995 and Gina Williams in 2002.
