Congratulations to Rosemary Mose - Deputy Chief Executive Pasifika of NZQA

Rosemary Mose, one of our Old Girls has been named as the first Deputy Chief Executive Pasifika of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority in the newly established Office of the DCE Pasifika. In her speech at the establishment of the office, Rosemary said "For far too long, our people and learners have been framed in deficit terms, been casualties of low expectations, victimised, left off the page, forgotten about and/or underestimated… However, times are changing and as leaders we need to continue to influence, disrupt, innovate and make real and sustained changes so our Pacific learners (alongside their peers) can fully realise their potential. I am a living example of the power of education, opportunities and potential realised. My dear parents migrated from Samoa to Aotearoa – the land of milk and honey more than 40 years ago so their own children could have access to a better life through education and employment opportunities. Congratulations Rosemary we are proud of you and look forward to the contribution you will make that will benefit today's students. |
