A wonderful afternoon was had by the over 80 Old Girls from the 1940s, 50s and 60s who attended the Bubbly and High Tea Reunion on Sunday 7 April. We were honoured to have 5 former students from the 1940s all in their 90s attend. Many a laugh was had and memories shared as old girls caught up with each other and remembered, what for many, were some of the best years of their lives. Chris Wargent, President of the Old Girls Association welcomed everyone; Principal, Ngaire Ashmore, introduced herself, and brought attendees up to date on current school news and Heather Ash, Chair of the AGGS Foundation spoke a little of the aims and work of the Foundation as well as reminding everyone that in 2028 the school will be 140 years old and a great year of celebrating is being planned. Thank you to everyone who attended especially those of your who travelled from out of Auckland, Napier, Palmerston North and Sydney, just to name a few. |
