Older Old Girls will remember the two very dark pig hunting paintings that used to grace the Study Hall on either side of the centre painting of Kauri trees. I remember the first time I came into the Study Hall I couldn't believe that a girls school had pig hunting paintings on the wall! Thankfully those paintings were replaced several years ago with a beautiful tryptych by renowned Samoan/New Zealand artist Fetu Feu'u. The paintings were purchased with the help of a generous bequest from Ethel Baxter an Old Girl of AGGS. |
